Privacy Policy
At OpusMeet, your privacy is fundamental to everything we build. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Who We Are
OpusMeet is operated by Silicon Visions (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy applies to all OpusMeet products and services, including OpusMeet Messenger, OpusMeet Business, our mobile applications (iOS and Android), web applications, and any related services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your phone number (for Messenger) or email address (for Business). You may also provide a display name and profile photo.
- Messages & Content: We facilitate delivery of messages, photos, videos, voice messages, documents, and status updates you send and receive. Personal messages are end-to-end encrypted — we cannot read them.
- Contacts: With your permission, we access your device contacts to help you connect with people you know who also use OpusMeet.
- Payment Information: If you use paid Business features, payment processing is handled by third-party processors. We do not store your full credit card details.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: We collect information about how you use our services, such as feature interactions, timestamps of messages (not content), and session duration.
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, app version, language preferences, and unique device identifiers.
- Connection Data: IP address, browser type, and network connection type (WiFi, cellular).
- Performance Data: Crash reports, diagnostic logs, and performance metrics to improve our services.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
- Linked Devices: When you link a device (e.g., OpusMeet Messenger Web via QR code), we create a device session to keep your devices in sync.
- Business Integrations: If your organization uses OpusMeet Business with integrations (Slack, Salesforce, etc.), we may receive information necessary to provide those services.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide & Maintain Services: Deliver messages, enable calls, process status updates, and keep your account secure.
- Identity Verification: Verify your phone number via OTP (powered by Twilio Verify) to prevent fraud and ensure account security.
- Improve Our Services: Analyze usage patterns (aggregated and anonymized) to fix bugs, develop new features, and optimize performance.
- Safety & Security: Detect and prevent spam, abuse, and policy violations. Enforce our Terms of Service.
- Customer Support: Respond to your inquiries and resolve issues.
- Business Features: For OpusMeet Business users: provide AI summaries, live transcription, meeting analytics, and team collaboration tools.
4. End-to-End Encryption
Personal messages sent through OpusMeet Messenger are end-to-end encrypted. This means only you and the person you're communicating with can read or listen to what is sent — nobody in between, not even OpusMeet. This encryption is always on and cannot be turned off.
Encryption keys are generated and stored on your devices. We do not have access to your private encryption keys and therefore cannot decrypt your messages.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal data or content. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- With Your Consent: When you explicitly authorize sharing, such as connecting third-party integrations.
- Service Providers: We use trusted third-party providers for specific functions:
- Twilio — phone number verification (OTP delivery)
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud infrastructure and file storage (S3)
- Supabase — authentication and database infrastructure
- Vercel — web application hosting
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of OpusMeet, our users, or the public.
6. Data Retention
- Messages: End-to-end encrypted messages are stored on our servers only until they are delivered to the recipient's device. Undelivered messages are deleted after 30 days.
- Account Data: We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time.
- Status Updates: Status updates are automatically deleted 24 hours after posting.
- Business Data: Meeting recordings, transcripts, and AI summaries are retained according to your organization's settings and applicable data retention policies.
- Backups: Database backups are retained for a limited time for disaster recovery and are encrypted at rest.
